How do I upload an image into the online design?

Is there a size limit?

What colours must I have?

Uploading Images and Artwork to the Free Online design program.

Uploading images and text is easy.

First, get into TheOnlinePrinter's free Online Design system. You will get onto a page that is similar to the first picture below.

Click on the "Upload Artwork" button (the red arrow is pointing to it) if you wish to upload artwork or images.

Your PC screen will have a pop-up window come up, and that window will prompt you to select the image that you want uploaded. Just click on the "Browse" button (see red arrow below).

You will then get yet another pop-up window requesting that you select the image that you want.

Select the file that you want, and the file will become highlighted

For example:

  • The picture above has a red arrow next to the file that I want to upload.
  • I click ONCE on that file, and that file becomes highlighted (see image below where the file is now shaded blue).

You then click on "Open" (see the blue "Open" button above), and you will be returned to the Image Upload pop-up window (see below).

Click ONCE on "Upload File" (see red arrow above), and the file will be uploaded. If you file is large, then this might take some time.

once the file is uploaded, you will return to the design online screen (see below).

To move the artwork around the page, place the mouse over thye green botton at the top left of the artwork or image (see red arrow above), 'grab' the button, and drag the artwork to where you want it placed. 'Let go' of the image when it is placed where you want it.

Size of Files that can be Uploaded

You can upload any size file that you want. However, if the file is too big, it might 'take forever' to upload.

Special Requirements

All files MUST be in CMYK. If your files are in RGB, then the colours will change when it is printed.

If you do not know what CMYK and RGB mean, then visit TheOnlinePrinter's RGB and CMYK Explained information page.

Alternately, we also have some specific pages for some specific design program software:

Below is a screen shot of a page from the free online design program, and I want to remove the text.

First, move your mouse over the text that you want removed, and then click the mouse once.

The text should become highlighted (see screen shot below).

You then click the "Edit" button at the top left of the scrdeen (see arrow number "1"), and a drop-down menu will appear. You then select delete (red arrow number "2").

The text will then be removed, and you can do the same again with any other text that you want removed (see below).

You are then left with the text that you want, and the text yo0u do not want is gone (see below).

Whether you alter a text box, and image box, or a shape bos, the way of changing them is all the same.

First, highlight the box that you to alter. In the below image, I want to move the Company name, so I place my mouse over the text, and click the mouse once. The text is then shaded.

Next, i move my mouse over the green button (see red arrow below), i then grab the green button with my mouse and drag the green button down (see green arrow).

When the box is in the correct position, I let go of the green button. Compare the above and below pictures, and you will see that I have moved the text box down the page.

If you want to change the angle of the box, then grab the yellow dot at the top of the box (see red arrow below), and 'turn' the box into the position that you want.

In the below screen shot i have altered the angle of the text box by about 20 or so degrees.

If you want to change the size of the box, then grab the brown dot with your mouse (see red arrow below), and alter the size of the box to the size that you desire.

In the below image I have reduced the width of the text box.

So, altering the text box and moving it around is very easy.

TheOnlinePrinter's online design prgram is, we believe, a very good program.

Having written the above, a good thing to ask is whether you might be better off designing your file in your own software.

Most people are accustomed to the programs that they use, and you might get a betterc resultn using that software.

For instance, if you are accustomed to using Microsoft Word, then why not use that program. You can upload you images and place the text where you want, and TheOnlinePrinter can make Word files into press-ready files.

Another advantage of using such a simple program is that it is on your PC and you do not need to be logged on to the Internet to use it.
