An Honest to goodness 'RACK'

I couldn't believe it. I was walking down the steets in TuanFeng (Hubei, China), looked in to a front door, and there was a person PAYING to use a rack - an honest to goodness RACK.

I've read about people being brocken on a rack, but I never thought I see one, let alone a person using one. And then to find out that the person was PAYING to use it.

Follow the green straps tied to the bed-head down to just below his rib-cage. They are fastended to the belt below his rib-cage. Above his hips you will see a blue and white towel, which covers a belt just above his hips. From theis belt you can see green straps that are connected via the green rope to the weights hanging from the foot of the bed on the far left of the photograph.

I do not know the benefits of this treatment. I wasn't interested, nor did I accept there generous offer to try it out.

It's a medical treatment used to take the pressure off the vertabrae. If done in a hospital a tension machine is used. This is the home treatment. The hips are fastened to the foot of the bed and the upper body is pulled. I know of two people (Chinese) who swear by the efficacy of the treatment.

I am NOT one of those people who swear to the efficacy. I'll certainly swear if you try to put me into one of these things.
